
U13 Ron Maudsley Cup – Roundup 27th May

This season’s U13 Ron Maudsley Cup saw the majority of the second round ties completed this week with the Quarter Finals now taking shape.
Langford beat Bicester & North Oxford by 77 runs.
Langford scored 134-2 with George Webb-Carter 31ret; Freddie Webb 30ret; Tommy Hewlett 23no and George France 23. The pick of Bicester’s bowlers being Finley Moss taking 2 for 18 off his 4 overs.
Bicester 57-8 with Evan Cowley 15 and Aaron Watson 11. Sam Bonner the pick of the bowler’s with the fantastic figures of 4 for 1 off 3 overs with 2 maidens.
Tiddington beat Oxford Downs by 19 runs.
Tiddington scored 116-7 with Alfie Wilson 30ret and Jago Sidgwick 21no. Arthur Walton the pick of bowlers for Downs with 3 for 18 off his 4 overs.
Downs 97 all out in 17.3 overs with Sholto Hunt 30no and Sam List 17. For Tiddington; Alfie Wilson completed a great game with 4 for 9 and Oscar McCallum 3 for 13.
Cropredy beat Cumnor by 25 runs.
Cropredy scored 151-5 with O Dunlop 33ret and H Thomas 30ret. J Scott taking 3 for 10 for Cumnor.
Cumnor 126-5 with J Scott 30ret. B Accors the pick of the Cropredy bowlers with 3 for 21.
Aston Rowant beat Warborough & Shillingford by 5 wickets.
W&S scored 110-5 with Wilf Quinn 31ret and Arlo Ward 17. Wickets were shared evenly between the Rowant bowlers.
Rowant scored 111-5 in 16.4 overs with Max Fendom 30ret and Sebastian Grocutt 20. Mikey Hadway was the pick of Warborough bowlers with 2 for 10 off 4 overs.
Witney Mills beat Minster Lovell by 113 runs.
Mills scored a mammoth 170-5 with Sam Jackson 32ret; O Morgan 30ret and A Pursey 30ret. Seamus Rowles the pick of Minster’s bowlers with 2 for 20 off his 4 overs.
Minster 57 all out in 19 overs with Rufus Jones 16. 2 wickets apiece for J Phillips and Louis Crosston.
Kidmore End beat Banbury by 54 runs. Kidmore scored 127-7. Wickets were shared between the Banbury bowlers. Banbury 73 all out in 16.1 overs with Ben Miller 29 and Arron Thomas 17.
Horspath v Challow & Childrey to be played 29 May.
Henley v Oxford to be played 7 June.
The Quarter Final ties scheduled for 16 June are:
QF1 – Aston Rowant v Horspath or Challow & Childrey
QF2 – Cropredy v Henley or Oxford
QF3 – Kidmore End v Witney Mills
QF4 – Langford v Tiddington
The winners of the Quarter Finals then progress to Finals Day at Didcot CC on Sunday 3 July.
Semi-Final 1 – Winners of QF1 v Winners of QF2
Semi-Final 2 – Winners of QF3 v Winners of QF4
The winner of Finals Day will then go on to represent the county in the ECB National Stage – Round 2 on Sunday 17 July hosting the winners of Middlesex v Surrey Round 1 tie.
