Summer Cricket Workshops 2024

Support Coach Course May 2024
FEATURED POSTOxfordshire Cricket are delighted to announce a upcoming Support Coach course that will take place on Thursday 16th May at Sunningwell Cricket Club from 18:00. CLICK HERE to BOOK Coaching is an enormously rewarding, challenging and crucial role in cricket. ECB Support Coach is a coach development programme consisting of e-learning and face-to-face modules that will help you take your first steps into supporting coaching and enhancing player experience. Programme outcomes This programme has been designed to develop a learner’s knowledge, skills and confidence to support qualified coaches. An ECB Support Coach is not qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and therefore must be supervised by a qualified cricket coach. Content Supporting coaches and players icoachcricket Communicating with coaches and players Supporting fielding, bowling and batting Safety Differentiation Who is it for? Anyone aged 16 and over wishing to support qualified coaches, inspire players and make a difference to the game. Commitment £40.00 One face-to-face module lasting three hours Two bitesize e-learning modules lasting 10-15 minutes each Multiple choice question assessment. Pre-requisites for certification 16 years old Valid safeguarding training e.g. Safeguarding Young Cricketers or Safeguarding for Coaches and Activators Valid ECB DBS.

FEATURED POSTWe are delighted to let you know about our Player Development Workshops that Oxfordshire Cricket are running during the Easter break, Tuesday 2nd April to Friday 5th April. We have scheduled a varied programme of workshops that targets a blend of specific discipline, a game theme, the opportunity for indoor match-play as well as 1-1 sessions. Every session is available for both Boys and Girls. Please see below a timetable of programme events, along with a booking link for each workshop. We ask that you please book carefully, making sure you choose the correct session for your child’s age. The Age Group eligibility table will help you to select the correct session for your child. Our Player Development Workshops do not form part of our annual pathway programme, and are an offering for those who wish to access additional activity during time-points where there’s a School Holiday/Half-Term. The Seamers - a workshop focusing on supporting players who bowl seam, swing or pace. The session will look to develop each seamer's technical, tactical and physical ability. The Keepers - a workshop specifically catering for wicket-keepers. Looking to develop each keeper’s technical, tactical and physical ability. The Spinners - a workshop focusing on supporting players who bowl spin. The session will look to develop each spinner's technical, tactical and physical ability. T20 Skills Camp - a varied day long camp exploring the batting, bowling and fielding skills associated with shorter format cricket. Sessions offer opportunities to practise specific skills, as well as compete against your peers in game-play either in an indoor game style or within the nets. 1 to 1’s - we are delighted to be able to offer some 1 to 1 coaching opportunities. Each session will be tailored specifically to the needs of the player, offering individualised access to one of our Pathway Coaches. Indoor Games - this session will utilise the indoor space to run some indoor games for players to practice in game realistic environments in preparation for the outdoor season. Players who sign on will be split into two teams, who will compete against each other across the 3 hour session. Rules will be adapted throughout to maximise the player experience. All of the workshops are specifically designed for Representative, Club or School players who have or currently play hard ball cricket. Sessions will be led by the Performance team, alongside other coaches who work across our Pathway or Emerging Player Programmes. Player Development Workshops will use a hard ball and all players will need the appropriate playing equipment. Each session will be delivered using favourable Coach:Player ratios (varies depending on booking), to maintain quality provision and provide players with the support they need. 03/05/2024Oxfordshire Cricket are pleased to announce the twelve man squad selected to play against Herefordshire at Brockhampton Cricket Club in the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) Twenty20 competition this bank holiday Monday 6th May 2024. Zach Lion-Cachet is unavailable for selection as he departs to represent the Netherlands during the week. He is replaced by fellow Sussex CCC teammate Danial Ibrahim, with Sean Hunt set to make his debut for Oxfordshire in place of Henry Crocombe. Harrison Ward will again represent his home-county. Tom Condon and Luke Maslen return to represent Oxfordshire, with the latter featuring in the T20 squad for the first time off the back of a successful winter in Australia. Following his debut against Oxford UCCE two weeks ago, nineteen year old pace bowler Oliver Armstrong is again included in the squad. George Tait has been allowed more time to focus on his university dissertation and Jack Brooks remains absent owing to family reasons. Tom Davis and Luke Hayes continue to be unavailable for selection due to injury. National County sides are only permitted to field a maximum of three non-qualifying players with Tom Hinley, Danial Ibrahim and Sean Hunt are the permitted three within the squad to face Herefordshire. Oxfordshire hope that their young squad with an average age of just under twenty-three will be able to push for a place in the Super 12s of the NCCA T20 competition. County Women Team News v Worcestershire - 2024
03/05/2024Oxfordshire hope to get their season underway this coming Bank Holiday Monday with a trip to Worcestershire Rapids. The game will be played at Flagge Meadow and will be the women’s first fixture of the 2024 season after the preseason match against Buckinghamshire and opening competitive game of the season were cancelled. Oxfordshire will be captained for the first time by Emilia Bartram following her appointment as captain during the winter months, with the italy international making her ninety-eighth appearance for the County. Southern Vipers and England Under 19s international, Abi Norgrove is available to play for her home county following an impressive winter in Sri Lanka with the England Under 19s. Chloe Westbury, Aimee Diab and Katie Waugh are selected and have been part of the Southern Vipers winter regional academy sessions. Lottie Oxton returns to the side after missing 2023 and she is joined by the experienced group of Carla Wood, Eleanor Ingram, Genny Porter and Georgia Haworth. Kitty Spurgeon steps up from the Girls Under 18’s after impressing at the back end of 2023 season and through the off season training. 03/05/2024Oxfordshire Cricket are pleased to announce the eleven man squad selected to play against Wales NC in the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) Twenty20 competition this coming Sunday 5th May 2024. The magnificent Wormsley Cricket Ground will again be host of the county with the first match commencing at 11:00am and the second due to start at 14:30pm. With an average age of just twenty-two, Oxfordshire have again opted for a young squad that includes nine players who were selected to play in the opening round of the competition against Shropshire last weekend. Eighteen year old pathway product and Sussex Academy player, Dylan Driscoll is set to feature in the Twenty20 competition for the first time following his impressive debut in the final Championship fixture of the 2023 season. Sussex County Cricket Club's Henry Crocombe is included in the Oxfordshire squad and is set to make his debut. Henry is joined by fellow Sussex CCC professional players, Zach Lion-Cachet and Harrison Ward who will again represent their home-county. Oxford Brookes University student Sebastain Stuart-Reckling retains his place in the squad and he is set to make his awaited debut against Wales NC.
