Coaching Courses Update 2023/24
Oxfordshire Cricket are delighted to announce a variety of Coaching and First Aid courses for the winter months. See below for more details on course dates and links to book:
Which course is right for you?
Foundation Courses are designed to coach softball cricket and pitched at a beginner level. You can read more about the Foundation Course HERE
Core Coach courses are designed to coach hardball cricket and are suitable for players at beginner and intermediate stages of cricket. You can read more about the Core Coach course HERE

Prerequisites for each course:
18 years of age
Valid safeguarding training e.g. Safeguarding Young Cricketers
Valid ECB Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Bursaries available:
We have a number of bursaries available (for courses booked before 31st January 2024). The bursaries are available as follows:
100% – for those in financial hardship
75% – for those coaches that are female, from ethnically diverse communities or those with a disability.

Vacancy: Pathway Cricket Coach
Our Pathway is an accessible and structured talent development programme that provides a developmental journey for girls and boys aged 9 to 18, who aspire to play representative Cricket for Oxfordshire at age group level, and beyond.
The Pathway Cricket Coach role will support Oxfordshire Cricket in maximising the potential and performance of talent within our pathway, developing players for both recreational and professional cricket, whilst ensuring that experiences within our pathway foster a lifelong connection with the game.
If you are interested in playing an influential role impacting the developmental journey of girls and boys across our pathway via the delivery of talent development environments, coaching and outstanding player support then this role is for you.

Vacancy: Player Development Coach
Oxfordshire Cricket are delighted to invite outstanding candidates to apply for the role of Player Development Coach.
Player Development Coach c.£22,000-£24,000 depending on experience
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, inclusive and proactive individual, who will work closely with our workforce and key stakeholders, to inspire and motivate people to play cricket by delivering fun, engaging and active sessions across our Schools, Community, State School Support, Talent Pathway and cricket programmes within a wide range of environments.
The continuing growth of our programmes has created a demand for additional qualified coaches who are enthusiastic about continuing to develop and improve their coaching skills and are a level two coach.
The Player Development Coach role is central to the successful delivery of our programmes which includes but is not limited to: Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Hubs, Community, State School Support and our Talent Pathway
Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering safe, engaging and inspiring cricket sessions to children and young people. Additionally, they will need to have strong communication, organisational and reporting skills and the drive to achieve set outcomes. Due to the nature of the sport, this role will require working unsociable hours from time to time.

Vacancy: Non-Executive Director – Finance
At Oxfordshire Cricket our mission is to develop and protect the future of Cricket by making it a sport of choice in Oxfordshire.
We are responsible for all ECB Participation and Growth activities and support to recreational cricket as well as the Representative Cricket and Performance Pathway Programmes for girls, boys, and women across Oxfordshire.
We are now seeking a new Non-Executive Director, with responsibility for Finance, , to join our Board who share our ambition for creating inclusive and accessible cricket opportunities in Oxfordshire at both the grassroots and performance level. As a Board Director, you will offer crucial check and challenge, mentorship and support to Oxfordshire Cricket ensuring we benefit from the very best governance.
The Director will help us to further foster a robust, collaborative and strategic board environment. They will be dedicated to enabling excellent outcomes across the game at all levels, ensuring that our local communities have the opportunity to engage in cricket in a way that is meaningful to them. We would especially welcome those who bring commercial and financial acumen and strong networking skills to the Board.
We are committed to building a Board that is representative of the communities we serve and are keen to ensure that there is a diversity of thought, knowledge and professional and lived experience across our Board. LOCATION: The Tudor Jones Building, Akeman Street, Chesterton, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 1TH.
TERM: 3 years, which can be, upon review, extended to two consecutive terms as Chair and up to three consecutive terms as a Board Director.
TIME COMMITMENT: We anticipate a commitment of between one to two days per month, including our monthly Board meetings.

Vacancy: Physical Performance Coach
Physical Performance Coach
Oxfordshire Cricket are delighted to invite outstanding candidates to apply for the role of Physical Performance Coach. The Physical Performance Coach will be responsible for leading the physical development and performance of the high-potential players selected onto the Boys Emerging Players Programme (EPP), whilst also contributing to the wider talent development system via the delivery of coach development and educational workshops.
Role Summary
Physical Performance Coach – £2,950.00
Fixed-term (part-time), 10 month contract (150 hours/20 days FTE), commencing 14th November 2023 and ending 14th September 2023.
The Physical Performance Coach will require the postholder to work two, two hour evening training sessions per week (Tuesday and Thursday) during a fifteen week preparation phase (November to March) and one, two hour evening training session per week (Tuesday or Thursday) during a ten week competition phase (April to July). In addition the Physical Performance Coach will also work at other times on a flexible, “as required” basis to deliver at EPP training camps and match days (April to August), to complete administrative duties and to attend player meetings. Coupled with their role Boys Emerging Players Programme (EPP), the Physical Performance Coach will also be responsible for delivering coach development and educational workshops within the wider talent development system at times directed by the performance director.
