And then down it came!
If it’s Tuesday it must be raining! 

After the driest spring in a century it eventually had to end somewhere and of course when the rain came it did it so on a Tuesday when the Oxfordshire Seniors Group play more than half their weekly allocation of fixtures!And with the 4th XI playing on a Monday they also managed to miss out by virtue of it being a bank holiday!

Next week the Over 60s 1st XI travel to Rugeley CC to play Staffordshire, in a game that
starts early at 12 noon. The 2nd XI are on their break week which hopefully will allow a few of the ‘walking wounded’ to return to full fitness and restore the very healthy competition for places which was a feature of the opening weeks of the season.

Meanwhile a very strong looking 3rd XI are entertaining Somerset at Kingston Bagpuize CC, while the 4ths are also at home to Somerset, this time at Steventon CC.

And finally the Oxs/Berks Over 70s 1 St XI will be travelling to the historic Goatacre CC ground to play Wiltshire.

Lets hope that the weather behaves itself and all the above games get played to a finish,
preferably without the intervention of Duckworth Lewis!
