Oxfordshire Cricket is pleased to announce its 12-player squad selected for the Super 12s stage of the 2025 National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) T20 competition, following a successful group campaign in Group 3. Demonstrating resilience and determination, Oxfordshire secured third place in a competitive group featuring Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Wales National County. Two crucial victories over Bedfordshire in the final round of fixtures ensured progression to the Super 12s.
Oxfordshire have been drawn alongside Cornwall and Wales NC in Group 4 of the Super 12s, and will travel to Wadebridge Cricket Club in Cornwall this coming Sunday, 3rd August 2025. Each team will play two matches – one against each group opponent. Two points are awarded for a win, one point for a tie or no result, and zero points for a loss. The team with the most points will advance to NCCA T20 Finals Day. In the event of a tie on points, net run rate will determine the group winner.
Match Schedule – Super 12 Group 4 (Sunday, 3 August 2025):
- Match 1 (10:00) – Cornwall vs Wales NC
- Match 2 (13:00) – Oxfordshire vs Loser of Match 1
- Match 3 (16:30) – Oxfordshire vs Winner of Match 1
Squad Announcement:
The twelve player squad selected for the Super 12s features several changes from the side that faced Bedfordshire in the final group stages in late June.
White-ball captain Harrison Ward returns to lead the team, having been available for only one fixture during the group stage due to his commitments with Sussex CCC in the Vitality T20 Blast. He replaces George Tait, who captained Oxfordshire for much of the earlier campaign. There is also a first-time senior call-up for 17-year-old Arthur Hanson, a product of the Oxfordshire pathway programme and a member of the Sussex CCC Academy. Hanson and Ward come in for Arjun Ramkumar and Luke Maslen.
Injury has ruled out 17-year-old leg-spinner Henry Welch, who played a key role in the 2024 T20 campaign and in the group stage games against Bedfordshire. He is replaced by Tom Hinley of Worcestershire CCC, who returns to the Oxfordshire squad for the first time this season. Freddie Smith is recalled in place of George Baines following strong batting performances in the last two matches within the NCCA Cluberly Championship.
