Oxfordshire Men have secured their place at the 2025 National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) T20 Finals Day, which will take place at Wormsley on Sunday 24th August 2025. This marks Oxfordshire’s third Finals Day appearance in the last four years, following a strong showing in the Super 12s stage of the competition, held in Cornwall last weekend.
Drawn into Group 4 of the Super 12s alongside Cornwall and Wales NC, Oxfordshire faced a challenging path to qualification. With the opening match between Cornwall and Wales NC ending in a no result due to rain, the remaining two fixtures were shortened to 5-over matches following as a result of the lengthy weather delay. Oxfordshire faced a must win situation, needing to win both of their fixtures to progress — and they delivered under pressure.
Match 1: Oxfordshire vs Wales NC
Opting to bat first, Oxfordshire posted a commanding 68-2 in their five overs, led by captain Harrison Ward (34 off 16) and Tom Hinley (14 off 4). With the ball, Hayden Rossouw (2-5) and Tom Hinley (2-21) shared the key wickets, restricting Wales NC to 51-5, sealing a 17-run victory.
Match 2: Oxfordshire vs Cornwall (Decider)
Again choosing to bat first, Oxfordshire set a target of 52-3, with contributions from Harrison Ward (30 off 12) and Dylan Driscoll (21 off 13). In defence, Tom Davis (3-13) and Tom Hinley (3-12) picked up regular wickets to restrict Cornwall to 30-7, securing a 22-run win and Oxfordshire’s place at Finals Day.
