Team News – Oxfordshire Women v Cornwall 24th August 2025

Oxfordshire Women have announced their eleven-player squad ahead of their upcoming Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture against Cornwall that takes place this coming Sunday 24th August 2025 at Werrington Cricket Club. This will be Oxfordshire’s second appearance in the competition, having opened their campaign with a win over Suffolk on Easter Sunday at Kingston Bagpuize CC. As the tournament resumes in late August and runs through September, our Women’s team will be aiming to build on that strong start and secure a second victory this weekend.

The squad sees three changes from the side that triumphed in the Vitality T20 Blast Division 2 Finals in July. Mim Aldred returns to the team and Honor Murray is set to make her first appearance of the season, while Sophie Grayson, Maya Barnwell, and Maisie Wright are unavailable for selection. Ellie Ingram will continue to lead the side in the absence of Emilia Bartram, who is currently on international duty with Italy.

Team News – NCCA T20 FINALS DAY – Oxfordshire Men 24th August 2025

Oxfordshire Cricket is pleased to announce its 12-player squad selected for the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) T20 Finals Day this coming Sunday 24th August 2025. The event will be hosted at the iconic Wormsley Cricket Ground, providing a fitting stage for the finale to the T20 competition.

Oxfordshire return to T20 Finals Day for a second consecutive year and will aim to reclaim the title they won in 2022. Oxfordshire will face Norfolk in the first semi-final of the day, with Northumberland and Dorset meeting in the second semi-final. The winners of each tie will progress to the Final, scheduled to begin at 4:30pm.

Match Schedule – NCCA T20 Finals Day (Sunday 24th August 2025):

First Semi-Final (10:00) – Oxfordshire v Norfolk
Second Semi-Final (13:15) – Northumberland v Dorset
Final (16:30) – Winner of First Semi-Final v Winner of Second Semi-Final

Squad Announcement:

There is one enforced change to the squad, with white-ball captain Harrison Ward ruled out after sustaining an injury during the recent Cluberly Championship fixture against Berkshire. In Ward’s absence, George Tait will once again lead the side, having captained throughout much of the group stage during Ward’s Vitality Blast commitments.

Prav Chahal also returns to the squad, having recovered from injury. He is fit to bowl again and makes his first appearance since featuring in the group stage fixture against Buckinghamshire in mid-June. Seventeen-year-old Arthur Hanson, a product of the Oxfordshire pathway programme and a current member of the Sussex CCC Academy, retains his place in the squad following his involvement in the Super 12s. He is joined by fellow pathway graduate and Sussex Academy player Julian Laird, who is available for his first call-up to the Twenty20 side after an impressive performance in both innings of the recent Championship match.

Team News – Oxfordshire Men 2nd XI v Buckinghamshire 21st August 2025

Oxfordshire Cricket is pleased to announce the twelve player squad selected to play in the final Second Eleven (2nd XI) fixture of the season against Buckinghamshire on Thursday 21st August 2025 at High Wycombe Cricket Club.

Squad Announcement:

The squad includes five changes from the side that faced The ACE Programme in the previous set of Twenty20 2nd XI fixtures on the 5th August. Right hand Wicketkeeper-Batter – George Baines, left hand batter and leg spin bowler – Ethan Barksfield, left hand batter and left arm spinner – Arthur Hanson and right arm pace bowler, Sam Hicks all return to 2nd team duties having featured earlier in the season. One of many positive outcomes from the fixtures against The ACE programme will see pace bowler Mudasirul Mian in line to make his debut for Oxfordshire.

The first of two fixtures will commence at 11:00.

2nd XI summary – 2025:

The competitive match opportunities offered through the 2nd XI programme play a vital role in supporting and accelerating player development. They help bridge the gap between the player pathway and adult teams, while also providing a platform for those aspiring to represent the County. The 2025 fixture series has been particularly valuable, allowing us to offer additional game time to both under-18 players and adult players beyond their usual playing environments. These matches have also served as an important tool for talent identification, ongoing player development and skill-discipline depth.

By the conclusion of the fixture against Buckinghamshire, a total of 29 different players would have represented the Men’s 2nd XI. The average age of the squad across the five fixtures has been just 19.55, highlighting the potential and depth within the men’s squad. Oxfordshire is well positioned for the future if the potential correlates to performance outcomes.

Dylan Swanepoel Appointed Women & Girls Officer

Oxfordshire Cricket are delighted and excited to introduce Dylan Swanepoel as our new Women & Girls Officer.

Dylan will lead on the development and growth of Women & Girls Cricket, closely working with all areas across our organisation and will be a key person working with clubs to continue driving the development of W&G Cricket.

Participation Manager, Shaz Khan, commented: “We are really looking forward to bringing Dylan on board to manage Women & Girls Cricket in Oxfordshire. He will look to build on the good work that has been created over the years and take this further with new exciting ideas. He will play a crucial role working with our dedicated members of staff and stakeholders, supporting our key areas and ensuring the connection between pathways are clear and provide the best and long lasting positive experiences!

Dylan brings dedication, positive energy, passion, work ethic and sound knowledge of W&G Cricket. Please join me in welcoming him to Oxfordshire Cricket.”

Team News NCCA Championship – Oxfordshire Men v Berkshire 17th-19th August 2025

Oxfordshire Confirm Men’s Squad for NCCA Cluberly Championship fixture against Berkshire

Oxfordshire Cricket is pleased to announce its 12-player squad selected for their third round match in the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) Cluberly Championship. The team will take on neighbours Berkshire at Thame Town Cricket Club from Sunday 17th and Tuesday 19th August 2025, with play scheduled to begin at 11:00am on Day 1.

Oxfordshire head into this fixture after a frustrating start to the competition, with both opening matches heavily affected by rain. Despite building a 117-run first-innings lead against Cornwall at Banbury CC, and needing just two wickets to secure victory over Herefordshire at Eastnor, the side is still searching for a first win. They will be aiming to deliver a strong performance when they return to action this weekend.

Squad Announcement:

The squad remains largely unchanged from the previous fixtures, with ten of the twelve players who featured against Herefordshire retained. Amogh Karpe and Dylan Driscoll make way, while the squad welcomes the inclusion of Julian Laird, a homegrown talent and current member of the Sussex CCC Academy and former Staffordshire and current Sussex CCC trialist, Charles Jackson. Eeesa Nadeem retains his place after an impressive debut, which included a five-wicket haul in the second innings

Oxfordshire Cricket is looking for an inspiring and driven Pathway Development Officer to help us grow the game, nurture young talent, and create clear opportunities for players to reach their potential.

As Pathway Development Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering our County Age Group, Early Engagement, and targeted talent programmes. Working closely with coaches, clubs, schools, and parents, you’ll ensure every player in our pathway has the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

Location: Flexible within Oxfordshire
Salary: £13,000 per annum (£26,000 FTE)
Contract: 2-year Fixed Term (with potential to extend subject to funding)
Hours: Part-time, 18.75 hours per week (including some evenings/weekends)

What You’ll Do:

Deliver high-quality coaching and talent development environments as a lead or assistant coach
Support talent identification and selection for County Age Group and Early Engagement programmes

Maintain the highest safeguarding and welfare standards for all players
Represent Oxfordshire Cricket with professionalism and enthusiasm

ECB Core Coach / Level 2 qualification (essential)
Experience in talent development or player pathway programmes
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with players, parents, and stakeholders
Ability to plan, organise, and deliver in a dynamic sporting environment
Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and developing the game for all

Bonus If You Also Have:

ECB Advanced Coach / Level 3 qualification (or working towards)
Experience working in county, regional, or national pathway systems
Knowledge of Oxfordshire cricket communities and structures
