Public survey of experiences and perceptions of discrimination and inclusion in cricket launched
Oxfordshire Cricket is committed to making cricket a game for everyone in our county. As such, we are encouraging people to complete the Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC) survey.
The ICEC has been set up by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as an entirely independent body to examine diversity, inclusion and equity in cricket at all levels and in all roles.
The ICEC’s survey invites the public to share their perceptions and experiences of discrimination and inclusion in cricket and is open for anyone to complete.
The survey will assist the ICEC in examining discrimination in the game and identifying opportunities to tackle the problems. A report is set to be published in summer 2022 that will also identify good practice in the game that can be learnt from, shared, and improved.
The survey is completely anonymous and can be completed with anyone involved currently or in the past with cricket, whether a recreational player or a professional, volunteer, employee, coach, umpire, parent or a fan and regardless of their gender, race or social class.
It is clear that cricket needs to address inequalities that are present in the game, and this is an important step in making that possible.
The ICEC’s online survey is available here.
More information about the ICEC is available here.

Matthew Barnes, Performance Director said:
“We are delighted to welcome Marcus to Oxfordshire Cricket and to announce him as our newly appointed Talent Pathway Manager.
The forging of the Talent Pathway Manager role is an exciting progression that will help us to better support the long-term development of girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 18 and assist the transitioning of those players into our adult teams or beyond into the recreational and professional game.
Marcus’s expertise in the field of strength and conditioning will enable us to move forward with our aspiration to provide more holistic talent development programmes through the integration of physical performance and his leadership in this area of specialism.
Marcus has the potential to significantly impact our programmes and the athlete support we provide our players and the chance to move into a management position that will progress his professional career – I look forward to working with Marcus and wish him every success in his new role.”
Chris Parkinson, People Director said;
“Marcus already has a history of success with Oxfordshire Cricket, and I’m sure this will continue in his new role. Not only does Marcus bring a strong understanding of the game at a very high level, but his passion for S&C will also contribute enormously. This further investment in our Performance Pathways will lead to the continued development of our young players, and their ongoing success and contribution to the game”
Marcus Campopiano, Talent Pathway Manager said,
“I am excited to begin my new role at Oxfordshire Cricket as Talent pathway manager. I started playing for Oxfordshire cricket last year in the National Counties Championship and immediately bought into the ethos and philosophy of the club. They were incredibly welcoming and I instantly knew that this was an organisation I wanted to be a part of.
