Week 1 Roundup – Hartwell & Wilf Bennett T20 Competitions
Opener Jimmy Phillips, with 47 off 41 balls, had laid the foundations for the run chase, before teenager Christopher Hofen stepped up to the plate with an unbeaten 25 from 18 deliveries to snatch victory.
Twelve runs came off the penultimate over, with seven following off the first five deliveries of the last over, as Horspath edged home at 130-6 with a ball to spare.
Earlier, Will Goodman top-scored in Tiddington’s innings with 38 from 46 balls.

Talent Search 22/23
Our Pathway is an accessible and structured talent development programme that provides a developmental journey for girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 18. The Pathway is underpinned by a player identification and recruitment system that assists our search for talent and the transition of players into the Pathway from Clubs, Schools and the wider community within Oxfordshire. More detailed information about our Pathway can be found HERE on our website.
We ensure that our Pathway remains easily accessible and inclusive for both Girls and Boys and open to receiving player recommendations from Clubs, Schools and the wider community via a nomination process. Our nomination process for this year is NOW OPEN and we invite you to nominate your players. We are seeking the nomination of talented, high potential players who have demonstrated above average performance levels relative to their peers with the capacity to perform at a more advanced stage of development and level of competition within our pathway.
Player nominations should be submitted by a Club, School, Coach or Official and we ask that you please note the following information before nominating a player;
- Players who participated in the Pathway from Phase 3 onwards in 2021-2022 will automatically be invited to Phase 2 of the forthcoming year. Please click HERE for a summary of all the players that will be automatically invited – they will not need to be renominated.
- Players who were deselected from the Pathway at either Phase 1 or Phase 2 in 2021-2022 will need to be nominated.
- Players that are new to the performance system, have moved into the county, opted to exit the pathway this year, or have progressed since their prior involvement within the pathway require nomination.
- To qualify for Oxfordshire a player must ordinarily either have been born in Oxfordshire, live in Oxfordshire, play club cricket in Oxfordshire, go to school in Oxfordshire or have represented Oxfordshire at County Age Group level the previous programme year.
- Nominated Girls must be born between 01/09/2004 and 31/08/2014 and nominated Boys between 01/09/2004 and 31/08/2014.

The Oxfordshire Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) in partnership with Oxfordshire Cricket are pleased to present an update on the results received from this season’s school matches up until the 10th of June. We are also pleased to announce that we will be holding a Schools Finals Day, in partnership with the Oxfordshire Schools Cricket Association, which will see a day of action-packed cricket, showcasing the U12 and U13 (State Schools only) finals played at the magnificent Wormsley Estate, offering these junior cricketers, the opportunity to play on a ground that has featured the best players in the world over the last 30 years.

Hartwell & Wilf Bennett T20 Competitions to Commence Next Week
Updated Ticket Information – Oxfordshire v Sussex at Wormsley
We were delighted to announce a few weeks ago that we would welcome our first-class partner Sussex County Cricket Club on the 31st of July for the annual showcase fixture against a first-class county. The match will take place at the magnificent Wormsley Estate.
There has been a great level of interest in this match, and we can confirm that there is now only a limited amount of tickets left
Entry to the match will be free to all, however, there will be a parking charge. A £5 ticket enables you to park one car at Wormsley, entry is free to all. Refreshments will be available to spectators.
VIP dining is also available and this will include the cost of parking. The VIP Dining tickets include tea /coffee on arrival, a 2-course meal between innings at approximately 2.30pm and a light late afternoon. The ticket also includes free parking and a half bottle of wine per person. We will be joined by John Filby (Sussex Chair), Rob Andrew (Sussex CEO), and Keith Greenfield (Sussex director of cricket) and Mark Beard (High Sheriff of Oxfordshire). All proceeds from this event will go towards Oxfordshire’s State Secondary School fund.
