Ruff smashed 58 off just 31 balls with 12 fours and a six to set Horspath on the way to 168-6 after they chose to bat. Fellow opener Jimmy Phillips weighed in with 42, while Henry Welch took 4-33.
Downs were then restricted to 103-9 with left-arm spinner Lloyd Belcher (4-7) ripping through the lower order.

Will Hawtin (29no) completed victory by cracking Hayden Rossouw’s second delivery in the final over through point to take the visitors to 157-4 with four balls to spare.
Elliot Ruff (44) had led Horspath’s run chase, supported by Imraan Manack (26) in a third-wicket stand of 61.
Earlier, Leo Bethell (43no) and Tristan Rossouw (39no) shared an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 81 to take Rowant to their final total after Will Hammersley made 37.

The Oxfordshire Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) in partnership with Oxfordshire Cricket are pleased to present an update on the results received from this season’s school matches up until the 30th of June. We are also pleased to announce that we will be holding a Schools Finals Day, in partnership with the Oxfordshire Schools Cricket Association, which will see a day of action-packed cricket, showcasing the U12 and U13 (State Schools only) finals played at the magnificent Wormsley Estate, offering these junior cricketers, the opportunity to play on a ground that has featured the best players in the world over the last 30 years.
The under 12 league semi finals are decided. Burford host Wood Green and Lord Williams host Chipping Norton who took the best second place spot. With four pools in under 13 the pool winners qualified. Hot favourites are Faringdon who with 5 county players exceeded 160 twice in their pool games and they host Bartholomew. Chippy have a second long journey to LWS in the other semi finals.
