Oxfordshire Cricket is delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Pinhol as its new Managing Director, effective 1st March 2025.
Following a highly competitive recruitment process, which attracted strong candidates from across the cricketing and wider sporting landscape, Nick emerged as the outstanding choice. During the process Nick was able to articulate some exciting opportunities and developments for Oxfordshire cricket, including robust plans as to how these ideas could be implemented. His deep understanding of the game in Oxfordshire, broad leadership experience, and strategic vision for the future of cricket in Oxfordshire set him apart.
Having been involved with Oxfordshire Cricket since the age of 15 – first as a player and later in a variety of coaching, marketing and leadership roles – Nick has played a pivotal role in the development of cricket across the county. Over the years, he has served as a Pathway Coach, Marketing & Communications Officer, Marketing & Commercial Manager, Secretary to the Board, Participation Manager, and most recently, Operations Director. His experience across these areas has equipped him with the expertise required to lead Oxfordshire Cricket into its next chapter.
Nick’s long-standing relationships with key stakeholders across all Oxfordshire Cricket programmes, clubs, and the wider community are a tremendous asset. His in-depth understanding of the local cricketing ecosystem and the needs of participants, volunteers, and partners gives him a solid foundation to lead the organisation forward. He is deeply committed to fostering strong connections within Oxfordshire’s cricketing community, ensuring that all voices are heard and that the sport continues to grow and thrive at every level.
In his new role, Nick will oversee the delivery of Oxfordshire Cricket’s 2025-2028 strategy, working closely with the Board, executive team, stakeholders, and commercial partners to drive growth, engagement, and impact across all levels of the game.
Oxfordshire Cricket Board Chair Peter Tervet commented:
“Nick’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Oxfordshire Cricket as we look to build on the momentum of recent years and align with the ECB’s vision of making cricket a game for everyone. His deep-rooted connection to the county, coupled with his vision and leadership experience, makes him the ideal person to drive our 2025-2028 strategy forward. We are confident that under his guidance, Oxfordshire will continue to grow, delivering more opportunities for players, clubs, schools, and communities across all levels of the game.”
Oxfordshire Cricket would like to thank all candidates who participated in the recruitment process and extend its appreciation to our members, partners, and stakeholders for their support. We look forward to working with Nick as he steps into this new leadership role, and we encourage the cricketing community to join us in congratulating him on this exciting appointment.
