At a Special General Meeting on Monday 6th October, members of Oxfordshire Cricket voted strongly in favour of moving ahead with an application to the Charities Commission to become a registered charity. This decision marks a major milestone in the organisation’s journey and provides a strong foundation for the future of cricket across the county.
Following the vote, work will now continue to prepare and submit the formal application to the Charities Commission. Once approved, Oxfordshire Cricket will operate as a registered charity, providing a robust framework to support its objectives and enable sustainable growth.
Becoming a registered charity will allow Oxfordshire Cricket to expand its programmes, strengthen support for volunteers, and invest in opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. It will also open up access to additional funding and resources to help deliver initiatives that benefit clubs, schools, and communities across Oxfordshire.
This is a significant step forward for cricket in Oxfordshire and represents the shared vision and commitment of players, volunteers, clubs, and supporters across the county. With this strong foundation in place, the future of cricket in Oxfordshire looks brighter than ever.
