Oxfordshire Cricket is delighted to announce that we will once again host open trial sessions for our Men’s and Women’s representative teams, marking the fourth consecutive year of this commitment.
We remain dedicated to ensuring our adult players have a pathway to representative cricket. The open trial sessions starting in January 2026, are designed to allow players to demonstrate the necessary skills required to compete at the National County level. Crucially, they help us identify talent that may have emerged outside of traditional pathways or at a later stage of development.
We are now inviting male and female adult players aged 18 to 30 to express their interest in representing the County. To be considered for open trials, all suitable applicants must meet the talent identification criteria and submit a formal application via our website.
Talent Identification Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Eligibility – A British Citizen who has been resident in England and Wales for the immediately preceding three years (min 210 days per year from 1st April to 31st March) and eligible to represent England (EQ)
- Age – Aged between 18 and 30 and outside a County Talent Pathway
- Experience – Experience of Men’s or Women’s Premier League, Feeder League or Division 1 League cricket
- Performance – Has produced notable or significant performances within league cricket at the level specified above over the past two seasons 2024 and 2025
- Potential – Believes they have the potential and skills required to play representative cricket within either the Women’s or Men’s team at National Counties level.
- Strength – Has a standout strength or point of difference within a specific skill discipline
