Oxfordshire Cricket is pleased to announce the 12-player squad selected to face Suffolk in the Vitality Women’s T20 Blast Division 2 South fixtures on Sunday, 29th June 2025, at Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club.
Currently sitting top of the table with four wins from four matches, Oxfordshire heads into Sunday’s double-header full of belief, confidence, and momentum. The matches however promise to be a stern test, with Suffolk close behind in second place.
There are two changes to the squad from the previous fixture: Aimee Diab and Rabiya Dogar are unavailable for the away trip, paving the way for Maisie Wright to return to the side and for 17-year-old Felicity Rae-Welsh to make her debut.

Oxfordshire Cricket has named a 12-man squad for their final round National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) T20 double-header against Bedfordshire, taking place this Sunday, 29th June 2025, at Luton Town & Indians Cricket Club.
With just two wins from six games, Oxfordshire face a must-win scenario. Victories in both fixtures against Bedfordshire are likely essential to secure a place in the Super 12 stage, with only three of the five teams progressing from Group 3. Even with two wins, Oxfordshire’s qualification hopes will depend on results from the final round of matches, set for Sunday 6th July.
The squad sees four changes from the team that faced Buckinghamshire. Pace bowler Tom Davis returns to bolster the bowling attack after missing the previous match. Oxfordshire-born George Baines is set to make his debut, replacing the unavailable Jacob Townsend. Luke Maslen is recalled to the side following impressive recent performances for Oxford Downs CC and the 2nd XI against Berkshire on Thursday, 26 June 2025. Seventeen-year-old leg-spinner Henry Welch, Oxfordshire’s leading wicket-taker last season, is back in the squad after completing his school exams. Arjun Ramkumar also returns, having missed the last two rounds of matches in the competition due to university commitments. Meanwhile, Ayush Patel retains his place at the top of the order after a strong debut two weeks ago.

Oxfordshire Cricket Names Squad for Second eleven Season Opener Against Berkshire
Oxfordshire Cricket has announced a twelve player squad for their opening Second eleven fixture of the 2025 season, set to take place on Thursday 26th June at Banbury Cricket Club against Berkshire.
The squad features seven players who were involved in the first eleven against Buckinghamshire in the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) T20 Competition on Sunday 15th June. Returning to the side are Luke Maslen, Rahul Tangirala, and Oliver Armstrong who have all featured in the first eleven this year. Also returning is Eitan Litvin, making his first appearance of the season following time out of action after contributing to last year’s championship campaign. Rory Nicholson is named in the squad for the first time since facing Berkshire in 2023, rewarded for strong performances with the Boys Under-18s last season.
The Second Eleven plays a key role in supporting player development by offering competitive match opportunities, bridging the gap between the youth pathway and senior cricket, and providing a platform for players to push for first eleven selection. Oxfordshire will be aiming to deliver a strong performance in the set of Twenty20 fixtures at home as preparations continue for the next phase of NCCA competition and beyond. The first game is due to commence at 11:00am.

On Sunday 15th June a Festival of Disability Cricket was held at Abingdon Vale Cricket Club.
Sixty Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire players, relatives and carers enjoyed a great day of cricket at a lovely ground next to the river Thames.
Gloucestershire were the eventual winners but friendships were made and renewed and there were a lot of young Oxfordshire players experiencing their first game of cricket on a proper ground.
Many thanks to Paul White and Abingdon Vale Cricket Club for hosting us and Jeanette Tate for bringing her Gloucestershire side to the event.
A great day with a return Festival organised for Sunday 7th July at Cirencester Cricket Club.

Horspath crowned Oxfordshire champions in Village Cup
Brilliant centuries from Viv Narayan and Tom Nichols allied to a devastating spell of bowling by Asad Rafiq saw Horspath crowned Oxfordshire area champions in the Voneus Village Cup for the fourth time in five years with a 228-run romp against Aston Rowant at the Recreation Ground.
Narayan smashed 137 from 89 balls and Nichols hammered 109 off 98 deliveries to take Horspath to a massive 312-5 off 40 overs after they elected to bat in the regional final, before Asad ripped through the visitors’ batting to return stunning figures of 6-21.
It was a ruthless fourth-round display from the hosts, who were winning the area crown for a third successive year and the eighth time in total.
Now Horspath go into the last 32 of the national rounds with the next step on the road to Lord’s a home tie against Gloucestershire champions Painswick, who edged past Marshfield by 13 runs, on Sunday, June 22.
Nichols and fellow opener Tyron Eyles (19) got Horspath off to a swift start in front of a 200-plus crowd. They put on 48 inside eight overs before Eyles got an inside edge to Lewis North and wicket-keeper Jamie Revill took the catch at the second attempt.
But then Narayan joined Nichols and the pair proceeded to plunder boundaries in a thrilling second-wicket stand of 231.
Narayan, who struck five sixes, was the first to reach 100 when he whipped a four – one of his 16 boundaries – through mid-wicket.
Nichols followed him to three figures two overs later with a neat cut down to third man for a single.
Their partnership was finally broken when Nichols, who hit eight fours and fives sixes, was bowled by Jacob Eaton to leave Horspath 269-2.
Narayan followed 11 runs later when he lofted a drive off Eaton, who emerged from the run spree with creditable figures of 4-59, to North at long off.
Stephen Green chipped in with a breezy 18 to take Horspath past 300 as the hosts posted what is believed to be their highest score in the competition.
Asad then took centre stage with his pace blowing away Rowant’s top order as the visitors crashed to 25-4. He completed his five-wicket haul when Liam Hester edged into George Crawford’s gloves, and made it six of the best with Ben Knowler also caught behind before the end of his eight-over spell.
There was no way back for Rowant and, with Liam Turnbull taking 2-7, they were shot out off 22.5 overs.
Scores: Horspath 312 for 5 (40ovs, V Narayan 137, T Nichols 109, J Eaton 4-59), Aston Rowant 84 (22.5ovs, Asad Rafiq 6-21).
