An excellent all round team performance saw Wood Green School emerge as Oxfordshire U12 eight-a-side league champions in a final played at Witney Swifts CC on Tuesday 15 July. Nathan Anderson 19, Louis Poole 17 and Vivaan Ogale 17 contributed heavily with the bat to set a challenging target for Burford School, whose task was made all the harder by losing 3 quick wickets in reply. Only Burford’s Zach Green was able to make a significant impact with the bat, top scoring on the day with 22 off just 13 balls. Wickets were spread around between all the WGS bowlers. The ever excellent Patrick Lovell took two crucial wickets in the first over of Burford’s reply, and Nathan Anderson rounded off a big day with 2 wickets for just 6 runs from his 3 overs.
