Ed Wilson will be stepping down from his position as Cricket Development Manager with Oxfordshire Cricket on March 21, 2025.
Ed originally joined the organisation as Women and Girls Cricket Development Officer before being promoted to his current role as Cricket Development Manager. During his time at Oxfordshire, he has made a significant impact in promoting and developing the sport, particularly within the women’s and girls’ cricket programmes. He will be leaving to take on a new role as Head of Women and Girls Cricket at Worcestershire County Cricket Club. In his new position, Ed will serve as the lead coach for Worcestershire’s women’s team, oversee the girls’ pathway, and take on the role of the girls’ Emerging Player Pathway (EPP) lead.
Reflecting on his time at Oxfordshire Cricket, Ed shared:
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 years at Oxfordshire Cricket. We are lucky in the county to have such a dedicated group of volunteers within our club network, which has been a huge reason for the growth across women and girls cricket. Our Coach Development programme benefits from some excellent and experienced tutors who I have learned from immensely, and the trust and support from Nick and the Board at Oxfordshire has allowed me to flourish in this role. I’ll be sad to leave but also excited for the challenges in my new role. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone I have met and worked with during my time in this role, and I wish you all the very best’.
Nick Pinhol, Operations Director at Oxfordshire Cricket, expressed his gratitude for Ed’s hard work and dedication. He said:
“Ed has been a key figure in the development of women’s and girls’ cricket within Oxfordshire. His hard work, determination, and passion for the game have been evident in everything he’s done. Ed has played a pivotal role in the growth of our women’s and girls’ programmes, coach development, and our involvement in national programmes. We are incredibly grateful for all his efforts and wish him the very best in his new role.”
We wish Ed all the best in his new role and thank him for his contributions to Oxfordshire Cricket.
